Hangwei Li

Hangwei Li is a Senior Researcher at IDOS.

She is also an Associate at Megatrends Afrika and an adjunct lecturer at the University of Bonn. She received her PhD from SOAS, University of London. She works in the fields of comparative politics and international development, with a focus on China’s multifaceted relations with the Global South. Her work has appeared in various media outlets, policy briefs, and academic journals. Before her academic career, she worked asa journalist and was awarded a silver medal by the United Nations Correspondents Association in 2017.
