Poonam Joshi

Poonam Joshi is the director of the Funders’ Initiative for Civil Society (FICS).

Prior to joining FICS, Poonam was the executive director of the Sigrid Rausing Trust and the director of the European Office for the Fund for Global Human Rights (FGHR). She has over a decade of experience of briefing funders on the issue of civic space and developing grant making programmes to address the phenomenon. Before entering philanthropy, she practised criminal defence and family law and later led women’s rights work at Amnesty UK.
