Anna Khakee

Prof. Anna Khakee is based at the Department of International Relations, University of Malta where she acts as the university’s representative to the Global Campus of Human Rights and its Europe programme on human rights and democratisation. Her research examines the European democracy support agenda with a focus on its southern neighbourhood. She has also published widely on democratisation and on the intersection between memory politics, colonialism and international aid. Prof. Khakee has authored numerous articles, including in top-rated journals, as well as policy papers and reports. She holds a PhD from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies, Geneva.
